2015 Black Walnut Winery – Fire & Wine Festival

What a beautiful day for the 3rd Annual Black Walnut Winery – Fire & Wine Festival!

I got there around 6:30, and the music was already playing, and a small crowd had already started to settle in for the night’s events.

When I was talking to one of the Sadsburyville Fire Company members, he told me that there had been 3 deliveries of wood pallets, totally approximately 950!

According to one of the firefighters I chatted with, there were about 950 pallets available for this bonfire!

Here are just of few of the images of this spectacle! – Enjoy!

At one point, they were using a thermometer calibrated up to 1200º F (650º C), and all it could say was “Hot”!

A look back – Hibernia Park

It should be not secret at this point, to anyone living on the East Coast of the United States, that if it is not raining, just wait.

I will…

At the moment, Hurricane Joaquin is headed toward the East Coast…

Which means flooding… Somewhere…

It just so happens, that 5 years ago today, Tropical Storm Nicole, had just passed over the Chester County area, drenching the area, over night, with several inches of rain.

Silly me, I grabbed, my camera, and went out…

Out to Hibernia Park in Coatesville walking along the West Branch of the Brandywine Creek.

As you can see, there was a great deal of water, especially when you compare these two images, taken 7 months apart, during a Photography Meetup.

Do you remember Tropical Storm Nicole?

Are you ready for any type of storm?

What tips do you have to get through the next couple of days here in Chester County?

Special Malvern Supplement

I had a chance to work with the good folks over at County Lines Magazine again for their August special Supplement – “Stroll a Royal Mile… Malvern“!

Back in the beginning of June, I got an email from Jo Anne Durako the Editor of the magazine and the writer, Emily Hart about the idea of the supplement, and during the course of the thread, we had an outline for the issue.

On the First day of shooting, I took my two kids with me, as we walked King Street.

It was especially fun for me, because when I first moved down from Boston in 1993, I moved to Malvern, and lived there for a year.

Since then, there have been many changes to the town, and it very much seems to being in a growth mode!

Here are some images of:

  • Christopher’s Restaurant
  • Grazia Spa
  • Julie Anne’s Place
  • Kimberton Whole Food
  • Knots and Weaves
  • Louella
  • Nation Bank of Malvern
  • Posh Collections
  • Restaurant Alba
  • The Picket Fence
  • UpHome Ltd
  • Wolf’e Baldwin Brass Center

that were used in the Malvern Supplement!

So, if you get a chance, pick up a copy of the August issue of County Lines Magazine with the Special Malvern Supplement!
